Impact of Facebook and WhatsApp on Students; A Case Study of University of Swat

The aim of the study was to analyze the impact of Facebook and WhatsApp on students of University of Swat. For this purpose, a survey tool with questionnaire was used for the collection of data through random sampling method. Questionnaire was designed under the consideration of literature review, research question, objectives and hypotheses of the study. The researchers distributed 100 questionnaires equally amongst male and female students of the University of Swat. The hypothesis was proved by the research and indicated that most students have 201 to 300 friends on Facebook. Moreover, the study showed that students have 51 to 100 WhatsApp friends. The research also revealed that both Facebook and WhatsApp have an impartial impact on their academics and are used for entertainment. Similarly, the study found that most of the respondents were neutral to the promotion of positive relationship amongst students.
